What to Expect
Visitors are individuals who are interested in becoming members. So, it implies that prior to coming, each visitor has become acquainted in some way with our organization. Most often it is through your example. Members who frequently bring up BNI and its members will find that for many people the sense of confidence that we have for each other, the way we are so assured in recommending and being recommended by each other, will find that inviting guests to our Visitor Days is natural and easy. For others it can be difficult. But inviting potential new members to be visitors is a duty and a privilege of membership. So, there is no way around it. Each member must find their own system and do it in their own way, but finding, inviting, and bringing guests to our Visitor Days is an important responsibility of membership. And it is more than worth it.
Guests represent real opportunities for our members.
A new member for our chapter, over the average year, represents:
- 48 meetings are all opportunities to gain the trust of a new partner in business times the number of members. At 35 members that is 1,680 opportunities.
- $30,000 in referrals per new member on average
- If a new member brings in one more new member, then from that original guest can come $60,000 worth of new business and 3,360 opportunities for more.
BNI Enterprise is a real opportunity for guests.
It is not unusual for a guest to get a referral, because most guests are coming with a non-conflicting category. Each BNI Enterprise referral is currently averaging $680. So, a guest stands a good chance of getting a referral and a new customer … all for 1.5 hours at an enjoyable and exciting meeting which is over by 8:30 a.m.
